Its been a business staple in Manhattan since 1975 and its just been sold.

The Pathfinder has signed a letter of intent to sell to specialty outdoor retailer, Alpine Shop.
President of Alpine Shop, Russell “Holly” Hollenbeck says that owner and founder of The Pathfinder, Bill Riley, got in touch with him about purchasing the business as he and his wife Erma planned their retirement.
Not much will change at the store, aside from an expansion in product offerings.
Alpine shops is made up of four retail locations with three in Missouri and one in Illinois.
The chain of stores has seen its Columbia, MO location become the most profitable, and new owners Holly and Lisa Hollenbeck hope to duplicate that success in the college town of Manhattan.
The outdoor retailer earned a 2012 national retailer of the year honor for its commitment to growth.
