A former Manhattan City Attorney was granted a motion to continue in a case involving charges of distributing child pornography. Bill Raymond had been set for a status conference Wednesday in U-S District Court in Wichita, with a jury trial December 15th. But that was continued Wednesday, with the jury trial now set for January 26th and status conference for January 13th.
Raymond, who is from Andover, was indicted by a federal grand jury September 30th for three counts of distributing child pornography and one count of possession. The crimes allegedly occurred in November of 2014, February 2015 and May 2015 in Riley and Butler Counties.
Raymond was let go from the city position in early August after a search warrant at his home. Raymond had been city attorney since December of 2012.
