Two men have been arrested in connection with a rural Havensville burglary. Eric Howard, 46, and Robert Shutts, 43, both of Topeka, were taken into custody following the investigation of an early Monday morning burglary in the 16,000 block of Highway 63 in rural Havensville.

According to Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat Deputies William Cline and Chandler Imhof were checking the residential property as the address had recently been burglarized and the deputies were providing extra patrol. While checking the area, they encountered two men within an outbuilding, who were later identified as Howard and Shutts. Charges include felony burglary, felony theft, and felony criminal damage to property. Bond has been set at $10,000 each.

Following this arrest, Pottawatomie County Sheriff Detectives along with the assistance of the Topeka Police Department, executed a search warrant on a residence in Topeka where property stolen from the Highway 63 residence was recovered. The amount of loss in the matter is estimated to exceed 1000 dollars.
