Fatality crashes were reported in two area counties Sunday evening. Michael Folk, 38, of Iola died in a motorcycle accident on U-S 24 just east of Belvue in Pottawatomie County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Folk was westbound on 24 when his 1992 Harley Davidson motorcycle left the roadway to the right and overturned. The accident was reported just before 5:30 p.m.
And in Geary county, Caitlyn Head, 22, of Junction City died when her 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix left Clarks Creek Road in Geary County, about two miles south of I-70. KHP indicates Head’s vehicle was northbound when it left the roadway for an unknown reason, veered into the east ditch, rolling one time and striking a cement culvert. The accident was reported just before three Sunday afternoon.
