Residents of the USD 378 Riley County School District overwhelmingly rejected a $22.5 million bond issue question Tuesday night.

The monies would have okay’d significant infrastructure renovations and expansions to the Riley County High School.

With 100 percent of the vote tallied Tuesday night just before 8:30 p.m., 803 voted “no” — or just over 63 percent — and 468 voters were in favor of the question at almost 37 percent.

The Riley County clerk’s office reported a voter turnout of 45.57 percent, or 1,276 of 2,800 registered voters.
