Via Christi Hospital celebrated its new Patient Admissions and GI/ Endoscopy Center Thursday.

“The Deacon from St. Thomas More came to bless the facility,” said Joyce Constant, manager of patient access. “It’s been a long time in making and we’re very excited to have the facility.”

The entrance features an admissions desk, lab draw area, waiting room and additional parking out front.

Via Christi also gave the public a tour of its new GI/Endoscopy Unit, which features an entire wing for outpatient gastrointestinal procedures.

“It’s easy for a person to get a grasp of what’s happening here because you can get everything in the big picture,” Andrew Kvasnica, supervisor of the Ambulatory/Endoscopy/Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Kvasnica and his staff worked closely with the project architects to tailor make the space to fit patients’ needs.

While the new entrance is open, Via Christi is putting the finishing touches on the new GI/Endoscopy unit, which is scheduled to open next month.
