A Wichita woman died in a Friday vehicle collision at the entrance ramp off of Scenic Drive onto K-18.

The incident occurred just before noon when a Buick LaCrosse, driven by 83-year-old Sylvia Harden, turned left off of the Scenic ramp to enter K-18. She entered the lane of a Ford F650, driven by 55-year-old Brad Dunlap of Abilene, traveling on eastbound K18 in the right lane.

The F650 struck the Buick on the driver’s side. The two vehicles came to rest on their wheels partially on the North shoulder and median, both parties wearing safety belts.

Harden died at the scene and was transported Carlson’s Irvin Parkview Funeral Home. Dunlap was reported to have experienced no apparent injuries.

First responders and KHP closed one lane of traffic for four hours to investigate the incident further.
