A January sixth status conference has been set for a Topeka man charged with plotting to plant a bomb at Fort Riley in April.  John T. Booker Jr., 20, was in U-S District Court Wednesday for what was originally scheduled to be a status conference, but the defense requested a delay. Booker has already had several delays in hearings.
Court documents indicate Booker was trying to arm what he thought was a 1,000 pound bomb inside a van near Fort Riley prior to his arrest.Charges include attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State terrorist group, and attempting to damage property by means of an explosive.
