Long time Manhattan car dealer, Dick Edwards has died. His family confirmed KMAN today of Edwards’ passing on Sunday.

According to the Dick Edwards Auto website, he started selling cars & trucks in 1963, and moved from Augusta, Kansas, to Manhattan in 1981 to open up Dick Edwards Ford.  He became known for his catch-phrase “Dick Edwards will bend over backwards for you.”

In 1988 he opened up his Junction City location on Grant Avenue, then in 2013, Edwards built a new facility at the corner of I-70 & Hwy 77 in Junction City.

Edwards sold his Ford dealership in Manhattan several years ago. It is now known as Flint HIlls Ford.

Edwards is survived by his wife Janice, and three daughters.
