U.S. Senator Jerry Moran has announced that more than $15 million has been secured for construction of new barracks at Fort Riley.

Moran, who is a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, says the investment was included in the Fiscal Year 2023 Appropriations Package. In a statement, Moran noted that by building new barracks, the base will have greater capacity for additional soldiers to be housed at Fort Riley and says it puts the base in a more competitive position to compete for future opportunities.

Moran hosted Chief of Staff of the Army General James McConville at Fort Riley in August to meet with troops and to see Fort Riley’s capabilities firsthand.
