Two suspects believed to have been involved in a Topeka homicide were arrested Sunday in south Manhattan.

Topeka Police say 28-year-old Devonta Miller of Topeka and 21-year-old Harlee Borders of Marysville were taken into custody after Riley County Police followed up on a tip given to TPD. Both were arrested without incident.

The two are charged with multiple counts stemming from a shooting in Topeka Friday night that killed one person and injured two others. The incident was reported in the 3100 block of Southeast Bryant in Topeka shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday. Two people were found suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene. A third individual received injuries and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim identities are being withheld, though the Topeka Capital-Journal reported the deceased was identified as 39-year-old Kristi Rodriguez, of Chanute.

Miller and Borders are also believed to have been involved in a hit and run car accident following the shooting, near the intersection of Southeast 31st and Southeast Adams. Homicide detectives are investigating both scenes to determine if they are connected.

Miller and Borders are both charged with one count of first degree murder, four counts of aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated battery, child endangerment and failure to stop at an accident. Miller also faces a weapons charge.
